Elderly McLean Pedestrian Killed in Auto Crash

Fairfax County Police say a 56-year-old driver of a 2008 Dodge Charger was attempting to turn left onto Chain Bridge Road from Laughlin Avenue  yesterday afternoon when he struck an 84-year-old pedestrian who was in the crosswalk. The pedestrian, Elvira Slijepcevic of McLean, was transported to a local hospital where she died.

Police say speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash, and the case remains under investigation.
