Pittsburgh Foundation Takes On F.C.’s CrossLink International

The work of Falls Church-based CrossLink International has been taken on by Brother’s Brother Foundation, a Pittsburgh-based international charity dedicated to “Connecting People’s Resources with People’s Needs.” A grand opening for the Brother’s Brother Foundation’s new Northern Virginia offices, which will be staffed by three former CrossLink employees, will take place at 2730 Prosperity Ave., Suite 110, Fairfax, on Saturday, July 27, at noon.

Founded in 1993 by Dr. Barry Byer, CrossLink was an ecumenical humanitarian nonprofit organization which supplied medicine, medical equipment, and supplies to approximately 350 mission teams and hospitals worldwide and in the U.S. The 55-year-old Brother’s Brother Foundation has provided more than $3.5 billion of medical supplies, textbooks, food, seeds, disaster relief, and other humanitarian supplies to people in 140 countries. Dr. Byer will serve as a trustee while former CrossLink board members Cynthia Kilgore and Amy Hammer have joined the advisory board.
