F.C. Police to Offer Free Rape Aggression Defense Course for Women

The City of Falls Church Police Department is offering a free Rape Aggression Defense program to teach women realistic self-defense tactics and techniques.

The classes, open to participants ages 12 and older, will take place Aug. 15, 16, 20, and 22 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Columbia Baptist Church, 103 W. Columbia St., Falls Church.

The RAD System is a comprehensive, women-only course that addresses awareness, prevention, risk reduction, risk avoidance, and the basics of hands-on self-defense training. RAD is not a martial arts program. Nationally certified RAD instructors from the City of Falls Church Police Department teach the course.

There are a limited number of spaces available, and participants are required to attend all four sessions. For more information and to register, email ksdempsey@verizon.net or call 703-248-5061.
