F.C. Accepting Lottery Applications for Northgate Apartments

City of Falls Church Housing and Human Services is accepting lottery applications for seven two-bedroom apartments at the new Northgate Apartments, 450 N. Washington St., Falls Church, under the Affordable Dwelling Unit Rental Program. The lottery will take place Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dogwood Room of City Hall, 300 Park Ave., Falls Church.

The units are expected to be available in October. If the lease starts in 2013, the rent will be $1,290 plus utilities. To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents, must not have total household liquid assets exceeding $40,000, must have a minimum credit score of 620, and must have a total household income between 50 percent and 80 percent of the Area Medium Income (identified as $37,600 – $46,750 for a one-person household, $42,950 – $53,400 for a two-person household, $48,300 – $60,100 for a three-person household, and $53.650 – $66,750 for a four-person household).

Priority will be given to current City residents and employees. Applications will be accepted until noon on Aug. 2 and are available at fallschurchva.gov/ADU and at the Housing and Human Services office in City Hall.
