Wodiska Certified for F.C. Council Election; Web Report Barry & Kaylin Won’t Run

The Falls Church City Voter Registrar confirmed this afternoon that former Falls Church School Board chair Joan Wodiska has been certified to run for the Falls Church City Council with one day remaining before the filing deadline. In another development today, a web blog post by former F.C. Vice Mayor Sam Mabry has reported that Council members Johannah Barry and Ira Kaylin will not seek re-election to second terms this fall.

Barry and Kaylin ran as a team for the Council in 2008, neither having held public office before. Having come onto the Council together, so they will depart together at the end of this year, according to the Mabry report. The election for City Council and School Board will be held on Nov. 5 for four seats on the Council and five on the School Board.
