Mason High’s Menon Wins Cappies Award for ‘Featured Actor’

George Mason High School’s Vijay Menon won a Cappies Award at tonight’s gala Cappies Ceremonies at the Kennedy Center for “featured actor” in a play, for his role in Mason’s production last fall of “Xanadu,” winning out over four other nominees in a vote taken by hundreds of high school voting Cappies critics from throughout the Washington, D.C. Metro area. The Cappies critics team from McLean High School won for best Critics Team, James Madison High School’s “Lend Me a Tenor” won for best play, and Robinson Secondary School’s “Hairspray” won for Best Musical.
