F.C. Public Works Czar & Architect Of New Storm Water Plan Leaving

Bill Hicks, the director of the Public Works Department of the City of Falls Church and chief architect of the City’s newly adopted Storm Water Enterprise Fund, is leaving his post in the City July 5 for a new position with Fairfax County, it was announced at tonight’s Falls Church City Council work session.

Mayor Nader Baroukh called it a “huge loss for the City” and urged City Manager Wyatt Shields on behalf or the Council “not to let off the accelerator” in the implementation of Hicks’ ambitious storm water agenda. Shields said that for the time being, Jason Widstrom, who’s taken the point on a lot of the storm water work in the Public Works Department, will “take the lead.”
