Jody’s Jam of the Week: Food & Friends’ Dining Out for Life

For the 17th year, D.C.-area restaurants are coming together for a night of fundraising to help battle HIV/AIDS, cancer and other illnesses. Food & Friends’ Dining Out for Life takes place Thursday, April 25, and features over 100 area restaurants that have pledged to contribute between 25% and 110% of their profits on the day to directly benefit the Food & Friends program.

The organization, founded in 1988, provides specialized meals, nutrition counseling and friendship to those in D.C., Maryland and Virginia battling a wide range of life-challenging illnesses. Two Falls Church restaurants are participating in Thursday’s events– Clare and Don’s Beach Shack and Open Kitchen have pledged to donate 35% and 25% respectively.
