F.C. to Spring Clean with Recycling Extravaganza

The City of Falls Church Public Works Department will host its Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the City Property Yard and Recycling Center, 217 Gordon Road.

City residents may recycle a variety of items including used electronics, cell phones, clothing and textiles, sewing machines, bicycles, printer cartridges, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and medical supplies like crutches. All items will be recycled, reused, or donated to charity.

Paper shredding will also be available, courtesy of TrueShred. Residents may bring up to three boxes, no bigger than 2’ x 2’ x 2’, and should remove binders, clips, and metal from paper boxes.

For a complete list of acceptable items and what happens to each item after donation, visit fallschurchva.gov/RE.

Those interested in dropping off materials should turn onto Gordon Road from W. Broad Street. Volunteers will remove items from cars; there is no need for residents to get out of their cars.

Volunteers are needed to sort clothing, inventory bikes, direct traffic, and more.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Allison Lohrenz at recycling2@fallschurchva.gov or 703-248-5456.
