F.C. Farmers’ Market Extends Hours, Announces Chef Demos

The City of Falls Church Farmers’ Market will be open from 8 a.m. – noon starting this Saturday, April 6. The extended hours will last through December. At the market, more than 35 vendors offer locally grown fruits and vegetables, cheeses, meats, baked goods, plants, and wine.

This year’s Farmers’ Market Chef Demonstration Series schedule has also been announced. The series brings Washington, D.C.-area restaurant chefs into the market to develop recipes using local, seasonal food showcasing the bounty of the Mid-Atlantic region. The series also highlights the importance of eating local seasonal food.

The first demonstration is scheduled for April 20, featuring Willow Restaurant’s Chef Tracy O’Grady. This season’s schedule will go on to feature Pizzeria Orso’s Chef Will Artley on May 18, DC Central Kitchen on June 15, Mad Fox Brewing Company’s Chef Andrew Dixon on July 13, 2941’s Chef Bertrand Chemel on Aug. 10, and Lebanese Taverna on Sept. 14.
