Anderson Tosses One-Hit Gem in Mason JV Season-Opener Victory

Noah Anderson gave up a hit to his first batter of the night, but it would be the last one he surrendered as he led the George Mason High School JV baseball team to a 19-1 victory over district foe Central High School Thursday night.

After giving up one run in the top of the first inning, the Mustang offense went to work. Mason (1-0) picked up four runs in the first inning behind an RBI-single to second base by Anderson and a two-RBI single through the left side by Daniel Schlitt. The team followed that up with five runs in the second inning – highlighted by another two-RBI single by Schlitt .

After picking up a single run in the third behind a Davis Hagigh sacrifice fly, Mason finished the game with a nine-run bottom of the fourth to seal the mercy-rule victory for the Mustangs.

Anderson (1-0) pitched all five innings and tallied seven strikeouts after surrendering a lone earned run in the first. He also led all Mason hitters at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance with two RBIs.

Schlitt tallied four RBIs and he and Devin Thomas were the only other Mustangs with multiple hits on the game.
