Matchbox Opening in Merrifield’s Mosaic District in Late March

Matchbox, the popular Washington, D.C. restaurant known for its wood-fired pizzas and mini-burgers, announced today the imminent opening of its newest location in Merrifield.

Opening in the new Mosaic District development in late March, Matchbox’s first Virginia location marks the sixth Matchbox restaurant overall, joining locations in Maryland, California and three in D.C. Their latest spot will have 220 seats and a 40-seat patio set to open in mid-Spring. The restaurant will also feature a “to-go” station with the full-menu available for phone-in and carry-out orders.

Matchbox Merrifield, located adjacent to the Angelika move theater in the Mosaic District, will be open from 11 a.m. until 10:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and until 11:30 p.m. on weekends. Brunch on weekends will be available from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
