3 Mason Students Named Nat’l Merit Scholarship Finalists

Three George Mason High School students have earned national recognition as National Merit Scholarship finalists. Hannah Beaman, Liam O’Connell and Honora Overby recently received letters notifying them that they are among an elite group of students nationwide who are eligible to compete for the prestigious academic scholarships.

All were recognized last week during morning announcements at Mason High. The Mason students are among approximately 15,000 students nationally who are competing for 8,300 Merit Scholarships. Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
