8 from F.C. City Schools Earn Outstanding Teacher Nods

Eight veteran Falls Church City Public Schools educators have been nominated to receive this year’s Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award. The annual award is bestowed upon one teacher from each D.C. metropolitan school district.

This year’s nominees are Joel Block, George Mason High School mathematics teacher; Tammy Chincheck, George Mason High School history teacher; Anne Delehanty, Mount Daniel School special education teacher; Rory Dippold, Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School civics and economics teacher; Laura Dixon, Thomas Jefferson Elementary School second grade teacher; Andy Hosier, system-wide special education teacher; Mary Kelly, Thomas Jefferson Elementary School fourth grade teacher; and Jamie Lahy, George Mason High School special education teacher.

The winning teacher will be announced by The Washington Post this spring, and he or she will receive a cash award from the Post. The winner and nominees will be recognized by the school board at a reception in the spring.
