Homestretch Hosts Holiday Shopping for Homeless Kids

Thanks to the kindness of volunteers and donors, the children in the Homestretch program were able to shop for holiday gifts for their families earlier this month. Homestretch is a non-profit that provides transitional housing and support services for homeless families in Northern Virginia.

At the shopping event at the Annandale Kmart, volunteers were matched with children in the program to help them select the gifts and check out. Edelman Financial Services and the Falls Church Episcopal Church provided funds for the shopping.

After the children were done shopping, they headed over to Annandale United Methodist Church for a wrapping party, where volunteers helped them wrap their presents while all enjoyed food, holiday music, and activities.
