2 MEH Lego Teams Compete in State Tourney

Two Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School FIRST LEGO League teams attended the Virginia First LEGO League Tournament on Dec. 8.

The Great White Gears finished in 14th place with a score of 311. After a poor practice run, the students discovered that one of their motors had gone bad after many years of use. Instead of giving up, the MEHMS students showed determination and guts by completely taking apart their robot with 30 minutes left of their run. The kids were able to successfully fix the problem and reassemble the robot with minutes remaining on the clock.

TechyandWeKnowIt finished 25th overall with a score of 235.
