Fairfax Co. Seeks Volunteers for Senior Assistance Programs

Fairfax County has a number of volunteer opportunities available for those who might be interested in assisting local seniors.

Respite Care Volunteers are needed to visit and oversee the safety of older adults for a few hours each month. Volunteers are matched with families in or near their own neighborhoods in Fairfax County, and support and training is provided. For more information, call 703-324-7577.

The Northern Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs volunteer advocates for residents in assisted living and nursing facilities throughout the area. Training is provided. For more information, call 703-324-5861.

A volunteer low-impact exercise instructor is needed for Bailey’s Senior Center, 5920 Summers Lane, Falls Church. For more information, call 703-324-5406.
