Vincent Named F.C. Human Services Chief

Nancy Vincent has been promoted to the City of Falls Church’s Director of Human Services effective immediately, City Manager Wyatt Shields announced Wednesday. Vincent will oversee Housing and Human Services, the Aurora House girls’ home, and Juvenile Domestic Court Services.

Former Director Earl Conklin retired on Dec. 7 after 22 years of service to the City. “Nancy has proven to be a valuable member of the City’s management team since joining HHS in 2010,” said City Manager Wyatt Shields. Vincent’s accomplishments with the City include a 2012 Virginia Municipal League Achievement Award. She facilitated a multi-departmental team that coordinated responses to a wide variety of complaints of potential hazards and proactively conducted inspections to ensure the health and safety of our citizens, working to fulfill a City Council vision statement that City neighborhoods should be “attractive, pleasant, safe, and welcoming places to live.”
