Nominations Sought for Agnes Meyer Awards

Nominations are now being accepted for two awards that honor Falls Church City Public Schools employees: the Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and the Support Employee of the Year Award.

The annual award is presented by the Washington Post Company Educational Foundation to one teacher in each Northern Virginia school system that instills in students a desire to learn and achieve, understands the individual needs of students and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of subject matter and the ability to share it effectively.

The winner will be recognized at a reception and will receive a $3,000 cash award from the Post. Anyone can nominate a Falls Church City Public Schools teacher for the honor. Entries for both awards are due Jan. 11, 2013.
