Local LWV Chapters to Host Showing of ‘Patriocracy’

The Falls Church and Arlington chapters of the League of Women Voters will co-host a free showing of “Patriocracy,” a new non-partisan documentary about the dysfunction of government in Washington on Oct. 17. The event will be held from 7 – 9 p.m. at the offices of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, 4301 Wilson Blvd., Arlington.

The film explores how political polarization in the United States makes it difficult to tackle the nation’s problems. It features interviews with journalists and politicians on both sides of the aisle, including Democratic Senators Mark Warner of Virginia and Kent Conrad of North Dakota and former Republican Sen. Alan Simpson, former Republican Rep. Mickey Edwards of Oklahoma, and conservative pundit Pat Buchanan. More information about the film is available at patriocracymovie.com.
