Longtime F.C. Resident Martin Cigledy Dies

Longtime Falls Church resident Martin Cigledy passed away Sept. 11. He was 83 years old.

Martin graduated from Yorktown High School in 1947. He lived in Falls Church from 1965 until 2011, when he moved to Spring, Texas to be near his daughter.

Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Clair; they were married 25 years. He is survived by his two children, Mike (Bremerton, Washington) and Lauren (Spring, Texas), and his four grandchildren, Aaron, Casey, Kristen and Marcus.

Martin served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked at the Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C. for 40 years. Martin liked to travel, study Civil War history, and drink wine and lounge on his veranda.

Martin was an active volunteer with the Knights of Columbus in Arlington and assisted with various neighborhood activities.
