F.C. League Hosts Sept. 20 Kickoff on Civics Education

Civics education in the Falls Church Public Schools will be the focus of the 2012-13 kickoff meeting of the League of Women Voters of Falls Church Thursday.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Party Room of The Byron Condominium, 513 W. Broad St., Falls Church.

The meeting will feature a presentation by Assistant Superintendent Lisa High and some FCCPS students.

For the past several years, the league has provided a scholarship to a graduating senior of George Mason High School.

The League of Women Voters of Falls Church is a nonpartisan organization that serves the citizens of Falls Church City by encouraging informed and active participation in government, working to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influencing public policy through education and advocacy.
