Golf

The boys golf team lost two close matches this past week. Last Wednesday, the boys played a home match against William Monroe High School and lost, 208-166. Senior Ethan Anderson and sophomore Daniel Donovan were Mason’s top performers, with Anderson at 48 and Donovan at 52. The team’s match against Clarke County High School was a nail-biter, as Mason only lost by 12 points, 198-186. Standouts in this match were freshman Daniel Schlitt with a score of 48 and Anderson with 49. The team only has two more matches left in the season. They will play Madison County High School next Tuesday and will begin the Bull Run District Tournament Sept. 24 against an opponent yet to be determined.

Volleyball

The Mason volleyball team played three tough games this past week. Last Wednesday, they came out ready to play and were supported by tons of Mason students and parents. The crowd fed off of the team’s energy as they battled Wakefield High School and won, 3-1. The next day, the Mustangs traveled to Fairfax High School and fought through the game until they were defeated, 3-0. On Tuesday, the Mason team traveled to William Monroe High School and suffered another loss, 3-0. The Mustangs will host Central High School next Monday and travel to Strasburg High School next Tuesday.

Cross Country

The cross country team’s next meet is Saturday at Lake Braddock Secondary School.
