20+ Students in Need Get Supplies from F.C. Drive

City of Falls Church Housing and Human Services announced this week that the 2012 School Supply Donation Drive was its most successful in recent history. Thanks to the generosity of community members and City staff, about 20 to 25 area middle and high school students in need will receive gift cards or new supplies like notebooks, pens, and backpacks, as well as personal essentials like deodorant and tissues.

Although the School Supply Drive has ended, there are a number of ways to donate to families in need through the Falls Church City Public Schools Family Assistance Fund. The program provides school supplies, holiday gifts, and meals to City families with at least one school-age child. FCCPS social workers identify and help families who need financial support.

Donations can be made payable to the “Falls Church Schools Administrative Fund” with a notation at the bottom designating the Family Assistance Fund. Donations may be mailed to Falls Church Schools Family Assistance Fund, 800 W. Broad St., Suite 203, Falls Church, VA 22046.
