F.C. School Board Member Aguerrebere Announces Resignation

Six-year Falls Church School Board member Rosaura Aguerrebere announced her resignation from the board late tonight, saying it was for personal reasons due to her moving back to California.

She prefaced her announcement by praising her School Board colleagues, saying, “We’ve all had the same vision about our kids and learning.” Fellow board members praised Aguerrebere’s service on the board. Chair Susan Kearney called her “the heart of the board.” Joan Wodiska said “You are an amazing woman, a role model and a dear friend, a strong and vocal contributor to our school board.” Greg Rasnake praised her “true passion for kids” as one “who wore her heart on her sleeve” willing to “draw a sword to fight” for the students.

Kearney said a process will be developed soon for the board to appoint a replacement.
