UPDATE: Lincoln Park Playground Closed after Car Crash

parkcrashThe playground at Lincoln Park is closed after a car crashed into the equipment there last Tuesday night.

According to City spokesperson Susan Finarelli, a juvenile driver on Great Falls Street lost control of his car, hitting the gas pedal instead of the brake, when trying to turn left onto Lincoln Avenue. The car went through Lincoln Park, hitting some playground equipment at the park. The driver had a single passenger in the car, and neither sustained injuries. The driver has been charged with improper control, and a court case is pending. 

Finarelli added that the City plans to replace the damaged equipment.
