Marshall Names New Baseball, Cheerleading Coaches

George C. Marshall High School announced last week the hiring of Brenda Massey as its new head cheerleading coach and Aaron Tarr as its new head baseball coach.

Both are Northern Virginia natives; Massey graduated from Falls Church High School in 2001 and Tarr graduated from Yorktown High School in 1998.

Massey continued her education at Fairmont State and later, West Virginia University. She was a cheerleader at Falls Church High and for the past two years, she has been a dive coach at Marshall High.

Tarr played for the American Legion Post 139 out of Arlington and continued his play at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. He furthered his education by receiving an MA from the University of Liverpool. Tarr was the head junior varsity coach for Yorktown High for three years and coached for the VBC Express program. The past three years, he has served as a varsity assistant at Marshall High and he is currently the director of the VBC Cadets program that develops 13U players in the Vienna/Falls Church area.
