F.C. Police Seek Information About Attempted Abduction

The City of Falls Church Police Department is seeking information about a reported attempted abduction of a 16-year-old female Thursday evening.

According to a news release from the City of Falls Church, at about 6:30 p.m., the young woman was walking on the sidewalk along Haycock Road toward Leesburg Pike, on the George Mason High School side of the street. A white Ford work van with Virginia license plates pulled alongside her at the pedestrian crosswalk. The young woman said that a Hispanic male, about 5′ 5″ and about 30 years old exited the van and began walking briskly toward her. The young woman walked toward the high school away from the subject and pretended to talk on her cell phone. She looked back briefly to see the suspect return to the vehicle and flee the scene. The young woman was not hurt.

Persons with information about the incident are asked to call the City Police at 703-248-5053.
