Shields to Urge Extension of Review Time for F.C. Pedestrian Plan

Following a rousing, standing-room-only town hall meeting on the City of Falls Church’s draft Pedestrian, Bicycle and Traffic Calming Strategic Implementation Plan last night at the Community Center, F.C. City Manager Wyatt Shields issued a public letter to all attendees today saying, “I will be recommending to the city Council that we extend the time for public review and comment past the May 29 date that was originally scheduled for adoption,” adding, the goal “is to ensure the plan before Council reflects our citizens’ priorities.”

Specifically, he wrote, “We will address the requests that we heard to preserve on-street parking on Lincoln Avenue and Hillwood Avenue, and other areas of the City.”
