MEH Students Design Tool Belt for Pet Walkers

Mary Ellen Henderson sixth grade students have taken on a unique challenge. Using the Engineering Design Process as a guide, they were charged with finding a solution for unexpected emergencies when walking a dog.

Students presented the project to community members, who enjoyed the students’ creativity, and gave feedback on the presentation.

The result is the Pet Walker Tool Belt complete with clean-up bags, flashlight for night walking, umbrella for bad weather, doggie snacks, water, and other necessary dog-walking items. One of the unique features was a hands-free clip that allows the walker the use of both hands when cleaning up after his or her doggie.
