Falls Church Voter Registration Closes Feb. 13 For Republican Party Presidential Primary on March 6, 2012 City of Falls Church voter registration books for the March 6th Republican Party Presidential Primary election will close on Monday, February 13. Registration applications will be accepted if they are received by the Office of Voter Registration & Elections or postmarked by Feb. 13. Citizens who need to register to vote or update their registration address must do so by that date in order to be eligible to vote in the March election. All citizens who will be 18 years old on or before Tuesday, November 6th, 2012, the date of the General Election, are eligible to register and vote in this election. The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is requiring Mr. Eak Tonakarn (owner) to develop a Corrective Action Plan Addendum (CAPA) to revise previously established Corrective Action Plan endpoints for cleanup of petroleum at the site. Direct questions regarding the cleanup to:

The CAPA was submitted to the Northern Virginia Regional Office of the DEQ on January 24, 2012. TOWN HALL MEETING ON WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PLAN PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that there will be a Town Hall Meeting on the City’s Watershed Management Plan on February 13, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Dogwood Room, level G of City Hall with the Department of Public Works, City staff, and City Council. The Watershed Management Plan is the result of a nearly-two year process designed to create a roadmap for (1) reducing flooding to improve safety and protect property; (2) restoring and maintaining a healthy local aquatic ecosystem; and (3) cost-effectively complying with state and federal water quality and stormwater management regulations. The meeting will begin with a presentation describing current stormwater concerns, the process that led to the creation of the Watershed Management Plan, key decision making factors, WAC recommendations, and funding considerations for the plan. Following the presentation, time will be provided for citizens to ask questions and provide comments.
