Local WWII Veteran Takes Troop 895 Behind Enemy Lines with Talk

RogerwithTroop1WWII Veteran Roger Neighborgall recently spoke about his experiences behind enemy lines in 1945 to the Boy Scouts of Troop 895. It was illuminating for the Falls Church-based Troop to hear Neighborgall talk first hand of his awe inspiring experiences in occupied Europe in the Winter of 1944-45.

Neighborgall held his audience of boys ages 11 to 17 spellbound as he spoke of the dangers, and his real life adventures, when as a young Ranger he penetrated and toured for 10 days behind enemy lines in Germany. With slides and actual photographs, Neighborgall described the terrain, the crossing of the Saar River and German encounters. (Photo: Jacqueline Bruner)
