Mustangs Maintain Early Lead to Drop Madison County, 65-52

George Mason High School’s boys varsity basketball team avenged an early season loss Wednesday in a 65-52 victory over Madison County High School.

The game got off to a fast start when senior guard Noel Obusan and senior forward Nate Ogle put up the first five points of the game and the Mountaineers responded with four points of their own.

Then both teams combined for seven 3-pointers during a fast-paced shootout. After the smoke cleared near the end of the first quarter, the score was 19-13.

By the end of the first half, the Mustangs extended their lead to 35-25 and maintained at least a seven-point lead the rest of the game.
