Mason Boys Basketball Team Beats Central High, 72-39

The George Mason High School boys basketball team hosted and dominated the Central High boys basketball team (72-39) on Dec. 20.

The Mustangs opened the game with a 12-0 run led by a tenacious low-post effort by the Mustangs and early three-pointers from senior forward Nate Ogle, who scored 10 points, and senior guard/forward Philippe Griffiths, who scored 13 points. Central High responded with a full-court press and put eight points on the scoreboard by the end of the first quarter. But after a small run by the Falcons at the beginning of the second quarter, the Mustangs went on a 19-6 marathon and never looked back. The Mustangs are set to play in the Joe Cascio Holiday Classic next, which tips-off on Dec. 27 in Falls Church High School’s gym.
