Driver Struck, Killed After Exiting Vehicle on Roadway in Tysons Corner

Police responded to a fatal crash near the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Spring Hill Road in Tysons Corner around 1:07 p.m. on Monday. Preliminary investigation determined a woman driving an Acura TL was headed eastbound on Leesburg Pike. For unknown reasons, she exited her vehicle and was struck by a pumper truck also headed eastbound on Leesburg Pike. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit, Motor Carrier Safety Unit and Crime Scene responded to the scene and are investigating.
