Memorial Service for Richard Marsh Sunday at Mason High School

Richard Marsh, 16, a former student in the Falls Church school system, died suddenly last weekend. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 20, at George Mason High School from 2 to 5 p.m.

According to George Mason High School Principal Ty Byrd, contributions in lieu of flowers are being accepted by the Hoops for Youth Foundation, 10623 Jones St., Suite 101-A, Fairfax, Va 22030. Marsh had been a student at George Mason High School, and played sports, before transferring to Hampton Roads this fall.

In a letter to Mason parents and students issued this week, Byrd wrote, “Rena, Richard’s mother, has been a steadfast advocate for the Falls Church City school system for more than a decade, and our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family at this difficult time.”
