Police Seek Information on Fairfax Plaza Shopping Center Car Intruder

Police are investigating an incident that took place at the Fairfax Plaza Shopping Center, 2950 Gallows Road, in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County, on Thursday, Oct. 27, at around 8:30 p.m. A 33-year-old female reported that she exited Unique Thrift, walked to her car and unlocked it when she was surprised by an intruder. An unknown male entered the passenger side of her vehicle just as she entered the driver’s side. The victim screamed and ran away.

As she fled, she realized that she left her purse in the car and went back to retrieve it. As she returned, the same subject was standing at the driver’s side of her car; he walked away toward Unique Thrift. The victim was not injured.

The subject was described as possibly Hispanic, 20s to 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and around 160 pounds.

composDetectives are releasing a composite sketch of the subject as well as video of the incident. They would like to identify and speak with the subject in the sketch and video. The video can be viewed here.

Detectives would also like to speak with the occupants of the vehicle seen in the video that stopped to assist the victim when she screamed.
