McLean Couple Awakened by Burglars

A McLean couple in their 70s were awakened around 7:50 a.m. in the 1500 block of Pathfinder Lane when they encountered a pair of burglars that had apparently broken into their home.

One of the residents had risen from her bed after hearing noises. She went downstairs where she met the intruders. They demanded money and struck her. The suspects also roused the second victim who was still in bed. They stole a purse and fled when one of the victims screamed.

Detectives believe the suspect and victims are not known to each other and are continuing to investigate the incident.

One of the suspects is described as male and around six feet tall. The other is a petite female. Both wore dark clothing.
