Repeating as the Best Dry Cleaners in the News-Press Best of Falls Church competition this month, the Spectrum Cleaners on the Spectrum horseshoe plaza across from the Mad Fox Brew Pub enjoyed an explosion of new business a year ago, after winning the same competition.
So reports the always-cheerful Yeon Mee Lee, who with her husband, John C. Lee and daughters Rachel and Esther, operates the family business, which may someday soon have to expand to larger quarters because of its success.
“When we won last year, we started getting new customers from Fairfax, Vienna, D.C. and other places. Some came with very large orders, for $500 or $600 of business,” Yeon Mee Lee reported. Smiling from ear-to-ear, she says she’s bracing for another big surge of business after this week’s repeat win.
The Lee family came from South Korea 22 years ago and has been in the D.C. area the entire time here. With smiling faces, classical music always on the background and daughter Rachel’s signage and art adorning the walls (Rachel is a student at the Pratt Institute in New York), it’s always a pleasant experience to bring your business to the Spectrum Cleaners.
