Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School physical education teacher Megan Atkinson had applied for a grant to support the CrossFit Kids Club on We Are Teachers.
The club meets before school, and helps kids get their minds and bodies ready for the day. Teachers have reported that the kids in the club start the school day awake and ready to learn.
The grant is decided by a popular vote, and anyone can vote for the grant at weareteachers.com. The deadline to vote is July 7.
