Mason Girls Track Places 6th, Boys 30th in State Tourney

Runners on Mason High’s boys and girls varsity track and field team made their way down to Radford University last weekend to compete in the VHSL State meet.

In the 1600m run, fourth place went to Julia Estrada (5:29.03), fifth went to Eva Estrada (5:34.92), sixth went to Michele deMars (5:35.56) and 16th went to Abby Perez (5:58.33)

Katie Breen placed fifth in the 300m hurdles (49.13).

Daniel Drawbaugh placed third in the 800m run, and Claire Constance placed ninth.

In the 3200m run, third place went to deMars (12:21.28), fourth to Julia Estrada (12:21.81), 14th to Hannah Beaman (13:15.85), 16th to Perez (13:22.46), 21st to Eva Estrada (13:41.76) and 25th to Mollie Breen (14:18.64).

The girls team, overall, placed sixth with 27 points out of 43, and the boys team placed 30th with six points out of 42.
