Episcopal Church Vs. Defector Property Trial Expected to Run to June 14

The trial over the property rights of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia and seven breakaway congregations now aligned with the Council of Anglicans in North America (CANA) underway in the Fairfax Circuit Court is expected to drag on until about June 14, News-Press sources learned today, and Judge Randy Bellows is expected to make a final ruling in the late summer or fall.

The trial’s focus today shifted from the historic Falls Church, located downtown in the City of Falls Church, to the Truro Church in Fairfax, whose lawyers spent much of the day on questions of the land, deed, titles and financial arrangements concerning their church.
