Two members of the Rotary Club of McLean received highly coveted international awards at the District 7610 Conference.

Longtime McLean Rotarian Bob Rosenbaum received the Rotary International Club Builder Award and the McLean Club’s World Community Service Chair Frank Peterson was honored with the RI Service Above Self Award.

Rosenbaum joined the McLean Club in November 1971. He served as McLean Rotary president during the 1974-1975 Rotary Year. Rosenbaum has held numerous other leadership positions within the McLean Club, and the McLean Rotary Club Foundation as well as District 7610. He has sponsored eight current members of the McLean Club.

Peterson has been a member of the McLean Rotary Club since May 2005. He is the co-founder and president of Partner for Surgery, a 10-year-old nonprofit organization that provides medical care and education to more than 25,000 Guatemalans and facilitated surgery for more than 5,000 native Mayan people. He works with Rotary Clubs to implement Rotary Foundation matching grants that provide surgical supplies for medical teams conducting health care missions in Guatemala.
