He gave a presentation about the inspiration and art of former East German dissident artists whose works were recently displayed on a five-city U.S. tour to mark the 20-year anniversary of German reunification with the intention of instilling a deeper appreciation of the benefits, responsibilities and challenges inherent in “freedom,” most particularly freedom of expression. Thinnes also described his efforts to establish a new Rotary club in the Great Falls area. (Photo: Courtesy Joe Scheibeler).
