Fourth Graders Jazz Up Their Phys Ed Class with Jazzercise

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School fourth-grade students enjoyed a fast-paced treat during their physical education class last week. The kids’ jazzercise teacher, Anne Marie Weaver of Falls Church Jazzercise brought an energetic blend of dancing and playing to the school.

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School fourth-grade students enjoyed a fast-paced treat during their physical education class last week. The kids’ jazzercise teacher, Anne Marie Weaver of Falls Church Jazzercise brought an energetic blend of dancing and playing to the school.

The context was the FCCPS initiative to promote fitness by incorporating new and innovative approaches to “moving,” consistent with Michelle Obama’s ‘MOVE’ efforts for kids. Nathan Greiner, a Thomas Jefferson physical education teacher, head up the effort at TJ, and Weaver conducted three sessions at TJ with several hundred students.
