City of Falls Church, VA Crime Report for Mar. 1 – 7, 2011
Larceny from Building, 624 S. Washington St. (AAA Motors) On Mar. 1, 10:31 a.m., the victim reported a vending machine stolen from the building. The victim was unable to indicate the time the vending machine was last seen.
Larceny from Motor Vehicle, 134 W. Broad St. (CVS Pharmacy) On Mar. 1, 2:12 p.m., the victim reported her purse was taken from her unlocked vehicle. An unknown male stated he had found the purse and returned it to the victim. The victim reported cash was taken from the purse.
Public Drunkenness, 6763 Wilson Blvd. (Planet Fitness) On Mar. 1, 8:24 p.m., an officer observed a 17 year-old male intoxicated in the parking lot. The juvenile, of Falls Church, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Possession of Stolen Vehicle, 6700 block Lee Hwy. On Mar. 2, 12:00 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle.A male, 44, of Fairfax was arrested for Felony Possession of Stolen Vehicle.
Burglary, 200 block W. Greenway Blvd. On Mar. 2, 12:54 a.m., officers responded to the residence for a burglary that had just occurred. The victims stated they saw the suspect in their residence and he fled by foot. The suspect was described as a tall, skinny, white male. He was wearing shorts, and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt.
Destruction of Property, 400 block Sherrow Ave. On, Mar. 2, 6:45 a.m., the victim reported her vehicle was defaced with graffiti on her steering wheel.
Larceny from Building, 7124 Leesburg Pike (George Mason HS) On Mar. 2, 6:50 p.m., the victim reported his iPod Touch and cash were stolen from an unsecure locker from the boys’ locker room between 3:30 and 6:50 p.m.
Larceny from Building, 1051 E. Broad St. (Koons Nissan) On Mar. 3, 1:11 p.m., eight tires were left unsecured in the exterior of the building and were reported stolen sometime overnight.
Shoplifting, 134 W. Broad St. (CVS Pharmacy) On Mar. 4, 4:33 p.m., the business reported an unknown black male had left the store with several stolen bottles of body wash.
Shoplifting, 1230 W. Broad St. (Giant Foods) On Mar. 4, 6:33 p.m., employees observed a female, 28, of Vienna leaving the store with $266.47 of unpaid goods. She was arrested for Felony Shoplifting.
Driving Under the Influence, 6700 block Wilson Blvd. On Mar. 5, 12:58 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. Saul Lara Lara, 28, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
Underage Possession of Alcohol, 200 block W. Broad St. On Mar. 5, 1:50 a.m., an officer observed a 15 year-old male with an odor of an alcoholic beverage. The juvenile, of Falls Church, was arrested for Underage Possession of Alcohol.
Destruction of Property, 929 W. Broad St. On Mar. 5, 10:45 a.m., graffiti was found on the property painted on a door.
Defecating in Public and Public Drunkenness, 370 W. Broad St. (Broaddale Shopping Center), On Mar. 5, 6:30 p.m., an officer observed an intoxicated man defecating in public view. A male, 49, of Silver Spring, MD, was arrested for Defecating in Public and Public Drunkenness.
Underage Possession of Alcohol, 400 block W. Broad St. On Mar. 5, 8:54 p.m. an officer came in contact with two juvenile males. One juvenile had an odor of an alcoholic beverage. The 17 year-old, of Falls Church, was arrested for Underage Possession of Alcohol.
Possession of False ID, 220 N. Washington St. (State Theater) On Mar. 5, 10:08 p.m., Tracie L. Sperling, 19, of Falls Church, presented a false Virginia driver’s license to State Theater employees. Ms. Sperling was arrested for Possession of False ID.
Urinating in Public and Public Drunkenness, 100 block S. Washington St. On Mar. 6, 12:45 a.m., an officer observed an intoxicated man urinating in public view. Evan McMillan, 26, of Reston, was arrested for Urinating in Public and Public Drunkenness.
Public Drunkenness, 300 block Sycamore St. On Mar. 6, 4:34 a.m., a resident reported an intoxicated man was sleeping on her front porch. Hector A. Sanchez, no fixed address, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Urinating in Public, 6795 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On Mar. 6, 11:26 p.m., an officer observed a male, 35, of Gaithersburg, MD, urinating in public view. He was arrested for Urinating in Public.
Burglary, 100 block W. Cameron Rd. On Mar. 7, 2:28 p.m., the victim reported two iPhones were taken from the household overnight. There were no signs of forced entry.
Unlicensed Solicitation, 200 block N. Cherry St. On Mar. 7, 2:52 p.m., an officer responded to the area for a report of a man soliciting magazines in the neighborhood. A male, 30, of Memphis, TN, was arrested for Unlicensed Solicitation.
