Jody’s Jam of the Week: Mad Fox’s Barleywine Festival

When Mad Fox became the City of Falls Church’s first-ever brew pub last year, it was only a matter of time before the Little City would see its first beer festival. And that time is now.

This weekend, Mad Fox Brewing Company will be hosting the first -a barleywine festival- featuring their own barleywines and a slew of others from their favorite breweries. Serving up their own Slobberknocker, Headknocker and Wheat Whacker, the Fox will also be pouring barleywines from Heavy Seas, Dogfish Head, Laugunitas, Sierra Nevada, Stone and more than 10 others.

Intimidated by the selection? Don’t worry, you’ll be able to go at your own pace. The festival runs all-day Saturday and Sunday, during Mad Fox’s normal hours. Beers will be rotated throughout on draught and cask, served up in 4 oz. sample glasses while they last. In addition to their solid regular menu options, there will also be festival specials on food as well.
