Arlington, Falls Church Men Lead Team USA to Silver

Two area runners helped in leading the U.S. men’s track and field team to a silver medal this month at the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) 100km World Championships in Gibraltar.

Michael Wardian of Arlington took the individual bronze medal, leading the U.S. men’s track and field team to a silver medal Sunday, Nov. 7, at the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) 100km World Championships in Gibraltar.

Wardian finished in six hours, 49 minutes, 18 seconds to lead five U.S. men to top-25 finishes. Falls Church’s Matt Woods finished 12th in 6:58:36.
