F.C. Woman Killed at Springfield Bar During ‘Domestic’ Dispute

The murdered victim of a domestic-related assault that happened at a bar in Springfield last night was identified today as 37-year-old Tieu L. Nguyet of Falls Church.

The murdered victim of a domestic-related assault that happened at a bar in Springfield last night was identified today as 37-year-old Tieu L. Nguyet of Falls Church.

The suspect, 40-year-old Lam Dang of Springfield, is in the hospital in stable condition but has been charged with murder. Fairfax County Police said that “further investigation determined [Dang] assaulted [Nguyet] with a knife” and that the incident was “domestic in nature.”

The local woman died as a result of trauma to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Wednesday, Police responded to the 5T Bar and Grill, located at 7052 Spring Garden Drive in Springfield, around 6:40 p.m. Detectives determined Nguyet was inside the restaurant when Dang, an “acquaintance,” entered, assaulted her with a weapon and then harmed himself.

October is National Domestic Violence Awarness Month.
