It’s naptime for this little golden Chihuahua. Those sleepy eyes give it all away. At least this pup found a nice warm patch of sun to take a nap. The Chihuahua, especially the short coated variety, can get cold quite easily. In winter they often need extra protection against the harsh elements. Sometimes they wear little sweaters and even booties. And if not booties, they can always hitch a ride in their human’s purse. If held right up next to their human’s bodies, their little feet need not touch the cold, hard ground. See, all those silly sweaters are not just for show! The small breed usually weighs less than 6 pounds and derives its name from the Mexican State of Chihuahua.
